from all of us to all of you,

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

onsdag 16 december 2009

At first we were not sure why went to that lame flavoured-water-party. Not until we went home and found a pic of Hanson in the magazine we got in our goodie bags. The world makes sense again!

Fuck the financial crisis. Please do some nice expensive music videos.
Here's a sample containing stills from, from top:
Wonderful Life - Black
Stranger In Moscow - Michael Jackson
You Don't Understand Me - Roxette

Come on, how hard can it be?

We just fell over the wonderful pictures of Snjezana Josipovic. And now that we're fallen we're not sure we will ever get up. Just go see for yourself...

Pic from our dead serious meeting regarding the next number.
Beata and Saga pondering how to get their sexy shit together.

We also did a little playlist for you.

Anna Sundströms pictures in the 4th issue of Re:solution are photographed with a pinhole camera. They are dreamy and enchanting with their warm flowing light and fleeting textures. Anna is pretty enchanting herself and has a wonderful sense of humour.

Andrew Pearce is a member of the Loud Major Collective. He is contributing to the Time Travel issue of Re:solution with a beautiful series of a girl and a clock, dazzling and puzzling us with the way he handles light and colors.

Saga @ Hasselblad Center

We went to Gothemburg for the Hasselblad Award. Randomly impressed by Robert Adams I instead turned to making installations, using lovely Saga, a few poles and some rope.

Dwelling in the time travel discourse we find fascination in the blog of John Maloof. He found a plastic bag full of old negatives at an auction and bought them for a penny (or maybe not a penny, but... you get the idea, it was cheap). The negatives turned out to be high quality street photography by a woman called Vivian Maier. He did some detective work and tracked her down. Of course she was an old lady and by the time John found her and they had a meeting scheduled, she died. Drama!
But now mr Maloof blogs all her pics. And probably makes a fair amount of cash, we might ad.

The incredibly talented Saga, contributor in issue #4. The story for Re:solution magazine is shot in Iceland at the Þingvellir national park where she grew up.

Check out her inspirational and very flärdey blog!
Re:solution magazine♥Saga.

busy bees...
of course we're doing everything in the very last minute.

A photo of a bridge. Not very exciting one might think.
But the thing with the bridge is that it was photographed in 1910 by the russian photographer Sergey Prokudin. In color. No handcoloring.
We're having big troubles grasping the fact that the world were in color even before ww1. Well of course we know it was, it's just... hard to really picture, that's all.
Go to the website of our boy Sergey and check out his color pic of Leo Tolstoy.

There's some time travel for ya!

I was going to write WELCOME with chocolate sauce all over my stomach to celebrate the birth of this blog. Thought it could be cute (and, as I think about it, also very Freudian) but things went out of hand and instead you get this messy chocolate boob pic.
Anyways: welcome!

Resolutionmagazine

Re:solution magazine is a new online magazine founded by a collective of seven upcoming photographers based in Stockholm, Sweden. The idea of Resolution magazine is to create a new independent playroom for photography and arts, where our keywords are variety and diversity rather than a certain style or point of view. Our goal is to release a themed issue every second/third month wherein we will invite photographers, illustrators, writers and designers to collaborate in making this an as exciting medium as possible.
